What changed, and why.
The current release keeps live wallpapers direct, local, and independent from Apple wallpaper metadata.
VibePapers 1.1.0 Public BetaLatestJuly 16, 2026 · build 2+
- Made the direct desktop engine the only supported live-wallpaper path.
- Removed the private wallpaper provider and all Apple idle-assets backup, restore, permission, and synchronization code.
- Added transactional activation and rollback for the optional Screen Saver Beta.
- Added Ed25519-signed HTTPS update manifests and daily-at-most update checks that never self-install.
- Added local-only diagnostic export, privacy and legal notices, support, donation, and unsigned-build actions.
- Hardened remote videos and thumbnails with HTTPS, redirect, response, timeout, and size validation.
- Added reduced-motion handling and initial English, Latin American Spanish, French, German, and Brazilian Portuguese localization.
- Hardened universal unsigned release verification for embedded code, architectures, DMG integrity, checksums, and update metadata.
This is an unsigned, non-notarized universal DMG for macOS 26 or later. Verify its SHA-256 checksum before opening it.
VibePapers 1.0July 2, 2026 · historical+
- Initial library, personal import, backup, restore, Permission Center, and Apple wallpaper synchronization workflows.
- Those protected-system workflows were retired in 1.1.0 and are not part of the current supported architecture.
- Users should upgrade to the current direct desktop engine before seeking support.
Version 1.0 is retained here for release history. Its system-metadata workflow is no longer supported.
